SALT LAKE CITY – April 17, 2026 – Utah Treasurer Marlo Oaks announced the reappointment of David Zucker to a full six-year term on the School and Institutional Trust Funds Office (SITFO) Board of Trustees.
Zucker previously served a partial term and was eligible for reappointment. His new term will begin July 1, 2026, and run through June 30, 2032.
Zucker brings significant experience in investment management and financial markets and has contributed to the Board’s oversight during his prior service.
“David has demonstrated the judgment and discipline required to help oversee funds of this scale and importance,” Treasurer Oaks said. “His continued service will support the prudent management of the investments, with a focus on protecting principal and generating strong, long-term returns for Utah students and other beneficiaries.”
Utah’s school and institutional trust funds trace back to statehood, when Congress placed lands in trust to support public education and other designated institutions. Revenue generated from those lands is deposited into funds that are invested to provide ongoing support for beneficiaries.
The SITFO Board of Trustees sets investment policy and provides oversight of the funds, which now total more than $4 billion and serve 12 institutional beneficiaries across the state.
The SITFO Board Nominating Committee, under the direction of the Land Trusts Protection and Advocacy Office, identified and interviewed candidates for the position. Treasurer Oaks interviewed the committee’s final nominations before reappointing Zucker to the board.
